Biography
Prof. Dr. iur. Mehmet Köksal is the founder and managing partner of Köksal Attorney Partnership. Since beginning his professional career in 1987, he has advised national and international clients on corporate and commercial law, contracts, employment, foreign direct investment, ESG and supply-chain due diligence, litigation and arbitration.
He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 1986, completed a master’s degree in civil law at Gazi University in 1991, and received his Dr. iur. from the University of Konstanz Faculty of Law in 1995. He obtained his associate professorship in 2015 and became a full professor in June 2020.
His academic career began at Gazi University in 1987. Alongside teaching at several universities, he has served as dean, vice rector and rector. Since 2024, he has been Dean of the Faculty of Law at Girne American University.
He has chaired the Arbitration Chamber of the German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2011. Since 2025, he has served as the Istanbul Bar Association Executive Board’s Representative for Germany, Chairman of TADEV – the Turkish-German Solidarity and Education Foundation – and Chairman of the Atanasof Mutual Aid Foundation.
Working in Turkish, German and English, he combines academic depth with the commercial and operational needs of matters involving Türkiye, Germany and Northern Cyprus. His books, articles, conference papers and teaching focus on civil law, corporate and commercial law, employment law, consumer law, foreign investment and sustainability obligations.
