Trainee Lawyer
For our İstanbul office, we are looking for trainee lawyer candidates who are eligible to begin the legal traineeship in Türkiye and who can think about legal practice together with literacy in artificial intelligence, data, and software.
About the Position
At Köksal, being a trainee lawyer means not merely observing, but taking on responsibility on real matters alongside senior lawyers. This role is intended only for candidates who are eligible to begin the legal traineeship in Türkiye. In addition to strong research and writing skills, we expect candidates to have a high level of IT literacy and concrete knowledge related to artificial intelligence, data science, coding, automation, or software engineering.
Responsibilities
- Conducting legal research and reviewing legislation and case law
- Supporting the preparation of petitions, contracts, briefing notes and client correspondence
- Carrying out document and chronology work in litigation, arbitration and advisory matters
- Preparing for trade registry, notary, court and public-authority processes
- Producing short assessments, translations and summaries in Turkish and English
- Supporting the responsible use of artificial intelligence, data analysis and automation tools in legal workflows
Qualifications We're Looking For
- Having completed law-school education in Türkiye and met the academic requirements needed to begin the statutory legal traineeship
- Being in a position to begin the statutory legal traineeship in Türkiye
- Having a high level of IT literacy
- Concrete knowledge or project experience in artificial intelligence, data science, coding, automation, software engineering or similar technical fields
- Excellent command of written Turkish; able to work in English
- Research, analytical thinking and organised matter-tracking skills
- High sensitivity to professional ethics, confidentiality and teamwork
- Knowledge of German and an interest in international trade are strong advantages
